Grandad was kind, generous, crazy, full of fun, loving and always put other people first. He loved to spend time in his garden planting veg and various flowers. His real hobby was baking. He made the worlds best creations from potted meat to mucky gravy and how can we forget those famous yorkshire puddings and rasberry vinegar. He looked after his wife mrs flora ellen calton (nana flo) till she sadly passed away. Grandad used to work down the pit and had many memories and stories to tell. Both him and my late nana flo owned a hotel near to blackpools town centre. They sold up and got a lovely house. They both had a bird called bobby who the whole family adored, sadly on 16th october 2003 george passed away in blackpools victoria hospital with his family by his side. Potted meat.
Hey grandad,
Just a few lines to say how much we all miss you, Not only you but your amazing cooking. If you could see us all now you would see we are all wasting away. We are skin and bones :) I am going to attempt to do some potted meat this weekend, not sure how it will turn out but its gotta be worth ago hasnt it??
Well my mate, i love you lots and lots. Look after mum for me. Tell her i miss her and give her a kiss from us.

I do miss you grandad, but i also miss ur cooking... the phone calls i used to get saying theres a pan of ash or a bowl of potted meat. Yum yum.... i dont get fed like that now!!!
